The Risk of Gelling in Resin Polymerization

Alkyd resin manufacturing relies on esterification cooking at temperatures up to 240—C. Reaction progress is tracked by Acid Value (AV) and viscosity. If AV drops too low, the batch polymerizes completely and gelation occurs, ruining the reactor. Manual sampling is slow and dangerous.

High-Temperature Process Probes
