Inline Solvent Purity Monitoring in Chemical Distillation Columns

Control reflux ratios and optimize distillation energy input via real-time binary fraction analysis.

The Solvent Recovery Challenge

Chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing loops generate large volumes of waste solvent. Solvent recovery distillation columns purify these components (e.g., Ethanol/Water, Isopropanol/Water) for reuse. Reflux ratios are adjusted based on the distillate composition. Lagged manual sampling limits purity optimization.

Fiber-Optic Distillate Flow Cells

Installing USTECH transmission flow cells directly in the distillate return pipe allows for real-time, non-destructive solvent fraction monitoring. The system resolves solvent concentration from 0.1% to 99.9% purity instantly, controlling reflux flow valves directly.
