The Importance of Granulation Moisture
Fluid bed granulation combines active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and excipients into stable granules. The drying phase must be closely monitored. Over-drying creates static electricity and ruins granule integrity; under-drying causes sticky powder clogs and tablet press issues. Moisture must be monitored continuously inside the product bowl.
Fluid Bed Insertion Probes
USTECH designed a custom reflectance probe with a blow-back clean purge nozzle, mounted directly inside the fluid bed granulator bowl. The probe scans the tumbling granules through the fluidization air stream. Real-time moisture content (LOD) is updated every 3 seconds.
